+ I saw tiny flashes of Finnchel all over the place. He wants her. It's obvious. Let's get Quinn out of the picture and put this mistake behind us.
- Horrible songs this week. I love Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," but I really didn't like this arrangement. Disappointment. Also, "Dancing Queen" and "Friday?" First, there would be a serious problem if my high school glee club were performing at Prom. Second, there would be an even bigger problem if they chose those songs. I must admit - the New Directions version of "Friday" was a huge improvement on the original. Sidenote: Has there ever been a Prom on a Friday?

- Although I loved her performance, Rachel's version of "Jar of Hearts" was hardly Prom material. Who wants to slow dance with their date during a song about a slutty guy who has no soul or remorse? Yes, I understand that it was directed at Finn (based on his looks, he got it, too), but come on.
+ My favorite song? Artie's prom proposal to Brittany with "Isn't She Lovely?" I love his voice and you can't go wrong with Puck playing guitar in the background.
+ Kurt and Blaine. I love them. No other words necessary.
- Quinn. Get over yourself, maniac. You're upset because your "perfect night" is ruined while Kurt just got humiliated in front of the entire school. Slap Rachel again and see how Finn reacts. I dare you.
+ Mercedes and Sam. A very cute touch. Mercedes got her ideal Prom and Sam could afford to go!
+ Sue finally pointed out that "Run Joey Run" was awful. I love moments of complete honesty on this show.
- The return of Jesse St. James. I never liked the guy before. If you can't tell, I love Rachel. So, I'm with Finn on this one. I don't trust him.
+ Prom was quasi-realistic. The night ended with everyone crying! Haha...
+ Kurt handled being voted Prom Queen with the grace that only Kurt could. "Eat your heart out, Kate Middleton."
- Huge mistake for Principal Figgins. When you see that Kurt Hummel was voted Prom Queen, you make something up. Are you kidding me?
+ Karofsky is coming around. He had a couple more moments of genuine feelings and even if he couldn't dance with Kurt, you know he's changing.
- What was up with Puck and the spiking of the punch? How is having someone else spike the punch for him going to rehabilitate his street cred? More importantly, does he actually think performing Rebecca Black's "Friday" will help?
Overall, I liked the episode. I was shocked with Kurt winning Prom Queen, pleased with his response, angry at Quinn, excited about Finnchel, and I didn't miss Schue or Sue very much. I am, however, terrified. Next week's episode is titled "Funeral" and from what I've read, it's not quite like Dalton Academy's pet canary. Ugh. It better not be Blaine. Seriously.
I LOVE Finnchel and Blurt!!!! I couldn't get enough of them last night. I really agree with everything you said, except I (for the most part) liked the music....but I'm not very hard to please with that! I thought the same thing about Figgins- he should have made something up! Stupid! But I love how Kurt handled it. And Karofsky crying was so sweet! First time I've really liked him. I wish each episode was 2 hours long...it always leaves me wanting more!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is hilarious! I love your man meat Monday choice!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so let's get the Gleedown. I hope you're ready for some all caps...
ReplyDelete1. I watched this with boyfriend, who is anti-Kurt. So, I got to hear alllll about Kurt. BUT, I LOVE KURT. AND BLAINE. AND BLURT. And even though it was weird that Blaine sang at their prom, I didn't care. Also, Kurt's prom outfit was so fetch.
2. HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THE GROFF?!?! I love Jesse St. James. He CRACKS ME UP. He showed up, in a doorway, singing Adele (terrible version, btw), AND WEARING A SKINNY MAN SCARF. Don't even tell me that wasn't fabulous. MAGIC.
3. It's FRIDAY, FRIDAY. That song is seriously the worst sound to ever enter my ears. But, they didn't make it too bad.
4. I LOVED when Artie sang to Brittany. (Side note: do you ever pretend when they say "brittany" that they're talking to you? In the early days, I pretended that Schue was talking to me when he would say mushy things to Emma, but now I hate him because he's a selfish dbag, but that's another story...)
5. FINNCHEL WILL RETURN. I can feel it in my old-person bones. :)
CAN'T WAIT FOR MEXICAN WITH YOU TOMORROW. ARRRRRRRIBA.
FUN FUN FUN FUN
