I apologize for skipping the Glee-cap this week. For the record, I didn't really like the episode, but I think that mostly has to do with my lack of enthusiasm for Fleetwood Mac. Props, however, to Ryan Murphy and the writers for finally giving Sam a worthy storyline.
So, my friends, please bear with me while I spill my random thoughts to you in a completely disjointed, chaotic manner.
Casey Abrams got voted off of American Idol last week. I was more than a little upset at first, but if that means more jazzy lumberjack for me, that's fine.
The lymph nodes in my neck are swollen again. Big time. I hate it.
Now that I've had a year-long break, I'm starting to miss school a lot. I think grad school might be the right route for me. I looked into sports journalism programs and the only ones I can find around here require that I have a bachelor's degree in journalism or a communications-related field. Remember when I thought I wanted to be a lawyer and double-majored in political science and Spanish? Oops.
Even though the Pens aren't in the playoffs anymore, I've been watching quite a bit of hockey. I thought I would share a picture of my favorite playoff beard: Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators. I think he gives San Francisco Giants's Brian Wilson a run for his money.

I cannot stop drinking Sobe Lifewater, especially the acai fruit punch flavor. This is a great sign because my Dr. Pepper consumption is down to only one 12-pack a day (I'm kidding, everyone).
After Brad and Katie's wedding on Saturday, some of us went to Adobe Gila's to continue the celebration. I'm telling you this because I saw the most attractive non-celebrity I've seen in months. It felt genuinely refreshing to actually be attracted to someone that wasn't on the TV screen. Dark hair, full beard, easily 6'7", dancing like a maniac. Just my type. Lately, I have felt very trapped in my tiny hometown. I'm starting to realize that the things I want aren't just going to come to me. The things I want clearly aren't here, so I'm going to have to seek them out.
Ohio weather, as always, is driving everyone crazy. We haven't seen true sunlight in a couple weeks now. I'm blaming the recent temperature change for my scratchy throat and swollen neck. Tonight, it got down to 35º. Don't worry - in a couple weeks, it will probably be hovering around 100º.
I love tall guys. Really, I love them. I don't mean 6'1 tall. I mean the people-stare-in-amazement, 6'4 or taller, kind of tall. I'm instantly attracted to them. I love the way they walk, the way they duck into rooms, the way they sit with their knees bent up so high, the way they don't fit in roller coasters and barely in cars. I don't know if I feel like they would be better protectors than shorter guys or if my biology is telling me (not so subtly) that their genetics would create stronger offspring, better fit for survival. Either way, I love them.
My sister is coming home for the summer very soon. At least I'll have a partner on the Wii?
GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING.
ReplyDeleteI am getting ready to leave for my LAST EXAM and then I will be home! I was glad to see a blog post to read before I get out of here.
1. This was the first solid Glee in weeks.
2. Everyone is watching The Voice now.
3. Are you suuuure you miss school? You might miss college, but school after college is a whole helluva lot worse. But, I'm sure you'll figure it out and decide what you want to do. :)
4. I have never heard of Sobe Lifewater.
5. The man you described kind of sound hots, except that he had a full beard. Have you ever kissed facial hair? SCRATCHY and completely tears your skin up. Why didn't you talk to him or dance with him!? sadz.
6. Tall guys are good. Since I'm a shorty, everyone is tall to me. It would be kind of weird dating a shorter guy though, right? But, you have to be careful going too tall. I basically have to run to keep up with boyfriend since he's a giant. You also have to perfect "run and jump tiptoe kiss." lolz.
That's all I have! I hope you have a great day! Also, see you Tuesday?
So many things I want to say! First, I feel you on the swollen throat issue...it's killing me over here and that's why I haven't blogged much this week...sore throat = bad mood.
ReplyDeleteYou NEED to be a sports writer...it's obvious you have the talent AND the passion! Go for it!
So jealous you and Emma get to hang out/be in the same state. Boo.
No one can beat Brian Wilson's beard. Have you watched any of his videos? Hilarious!! Doug and I have seen them all.
Go getchu a tall guy! :)
"The things I want clearly aren't here, so I'm going to have to seek them out." << LOVE this
