Complete GLEEGASM!

Tonight was the night I've been dreading for three months: the season finale of Glee. I can't believe I have to wait all summer for new episodes. Alas, good things come to those who wait. Plus, there will be a Glee 3-D movie concert this August...and I will go alone if I must.

At any rate, the New Directions headed to the Big Apple for nationals and, as usual, they didn't disappoint. Here is my take on the season two finale:

+ EVERYTHING IS FINNCHEL AND NOTHING HURTS. Finally, the moment I have been waiting for happened and it was glorious. I don't care if it cost them nationals. Everyone wanted this. I, for one, screamed like a maniac and scared my lovely best guy friend who actually puts up with my madness. Singing a romantic duet with Finn, getting caught up in the moment, and kissing him passionately as our emotions propel us past the brink of acceptable human behavior might be my ultimate fantasy. Well, that and a post-loss locker room romp with Brian Urlacher. Or some time in the penalty box with Rick Nash. *cough*

+ This episode really made me want to go back to New York. Although I thought it romanticized the city a bit too much (the stairs in Times Square are never that clean or empty), I loved seeing some of my favorite places. There really is no place like New York. Also, Rachel bought fake tickets for Cats? Kinda sounds like me dropping $150 on counterfeit Rangers tickets. CURSES!

- Let's be real. They show up in New York City and they are still writing their songs for nationals? My willing suspension of disbelief cannot ignore this. When did they practice? Ugh. If you don't know your songs months ahead of time, you deserve to lose.

+ I am glad they didn't make the final cut. It was realistic - a slap in the face. Plus, we all know that they will make nationals again next year and win...because they will be seniors...and they can't win two years in a row. Adversity makes a champion.

+ Finn. He looked beautiful this entire episode. I love him in horizontal stripes, I love him in fluffy vest jackets, I love him in a suit and tie, and I'm 100% certain that I would love him in nothing at all. Please take me on a romantic date in NYC. If necessary, I will sing "Bella Notte" and we can eat spaghetti like Lady and the Tramp.

- There is no scenario in which a teacher would allow students to gallivant around New York City without a chaperone. Finn could not take Rachel on a date. Rachel and Kurt could not get breakfast at Tiffany's. Shouldn't they be working on the songs they haven't written yet, anyway?

+ Sam and Mercedes. How precious is that? It came out of nowhere, seems highly unlikely, but I love it. Just one more bizarre couple to add to the mix. Plus, I want to hear the "Hell to the No" remix of "Trouty Mouth."

+ Schue decided to stay in Lima. I'm not sure anyone would actually make this decision, but I'm glad he did. Puck hugged him and confirmed that he made the right choice. Plus, I'm tired of April Rhodes.

- Why did Quinn say "even Zizes has love?" What is that supposed to mean? PUNK. What was her big plan for New York? It was Santana's idea to give her a haircut. Also, she got her haircut and now she's suddenly at peace with Finnchel? Poor, unrealistic resolution of that issue.

+ Kurt is writing a musical about Pippa Middleton called Pip Pip Hooray? Again, I love him. So does Blaine. YAY!

- Schue's little solo performance on stage. Nothing more than promotion for his new album? Absolutely. Drowning in cheese.

+ Rachel and Kurt's rendition of "For Good" from Wicked was amazing. I love musicals, I love Wicked, and I loved this performance. With this song and their performance of "Defying Gravity" from last season, I think they should just do the show themselves. I can totally imagine Kurt singing "Popular."

+ Can I please be in the all-girl choir that sang Usher's "Yeah?" I belong there.

- I'm a little shocked that the students were okay with losing. It just ended so quickly and everything was fine. Well, except for Santana's hilarious Lima Heights Adjacent rant en español. Ten cuidado porque Santana es de Lima Heights Adjacent y ella hará cosas malas!

+ No, seriously. Did you guys see Finn? I know who killed me: It was Finn. In the library. With horizontal stripes. *sigh*

So, as you can see, I loved the finale. New Directions will be back with a vengeance next season and I have plenty of Finnchel fantasies to get me through the summer.
