I never know what day it is anymore.

Topics I avoided yesterday:

My brother swore into the United States Marine Corps on August 5th. I suppose I'm mostly in denial. He is one of my very best friends and I can't imagine him not being around. Although he spends more time being protective of me, I feel very worried that I won't be able to look after him. He leaves for bootcamp on December 13th - 7 days before his birthday and 12 days before Christmas. That will be a rough couple of weeks, but I could not be prouder of him.

My beloved Bengals played the Cowboys last night in the Hall of Fame game in Canton. They lost, 16-7, in a game that looked bad on both sides. Sloppy playing, stupid mistakes, and a lack of offensive connection have me very worried. TO did his part in his Bengal debut with two receptions. I'm not proud to say that he seemed like the most stand-out player on the team. Ocho was quiet with no receptions and a penalty. Yikes. At any rate, it felt great putting on the orange and black again. Bring on the fall.

Rookie hazing by his Bronco teammates no doubt. Ouch. Still, I find it harsh they insisted on the Friar Tuck cut. I'm not religious, but I don't think it's cool to make a mockery of someone's religious convictions. I know the haircut doesn't make the man, but let's hope it grows back by September. ;)

I helped Pfaff move into her house in Oxford. I'm incredibly jealous, but also very excited for her. I hope she has as wonderful a time there as I did. Plus, I get to take advantage of the spare room in the basement during hockey season. HELLO!

The Reds kick-off an important series against the Cardinals tonight. It should be a vicious battle for the Central title and I can't express how happy I am that our team actually has a pulse in the month of August. It's been quite awhile since we've felt this way.
