I told myself I wouldn't do it. I swore that things would be different this year. I promised I would move on from the devastation of losing someone so special to me and focus my attention elsewhere...on something more productive.
But, that was foolish. Every Wednesday and Thursday, I find myself falling into the same old habits. Yes, I'm still addicted to American Idol.
I've watched the show faithfully every season and I've gotten quite good at picking out early favorites that last awhile. In fact, I fell head over heels in love with Taylor Hicks the first time I heard him sing and play the harmonica (and shout "Soul Patrol!"). I had it in for David Archuleta the instant he auditioned.
So, this year, I've got some early favorites.
For the guys, Casey Abrams.
The instant I heard that delicious scat, I was done. He has already chosen two Ray Charles songs, which instantly melts my heart. What he did tonight with the upright bass? Done and done.
For the girls, Lauren Alaina.
What a beautiful voice. She makes it look so easy. Oh yeah - did I mention she's 15?
VERY close runners-up: Handsome cowboy John Wayne and ridiculously precious Jacee Badeaux.

definitely not the only one. of course i'm right there obsessed with you. :) i reallllyyy like lauren alaina. she's probably my favorite girl. i also think that colombian girl named julie is gorgeoussss, haha (and has a decent voice, plus she plays the piano!).
