Yesterday, Mom, Dad, Jenn, TJ, Hanny, Chris, and I went to our usual Tuesday trivia. Although we placed dead last, it was awesome and Trivia Tom even sang "Happy Birthday" to me! Dreams do come true. Mom even brought cake to the bar, complete with the new alcoholic whipped cream. That stuff isn't messing around either - it's 30-proof and comes in nine different flavors!
As I already mentioned, Mom and Dad got me two AWESOME seats for the Penguins vs. Coyotes game on December 20th. I got the tickets in the mail today and who is pictured on them? Sidney 'man of my dreams' Crosby. My parents also got me an adorable penguin Pillow Pet who I have affectionately named Geno.
After watching Glee, Jenn stole me away and took me to Steak 'n Shake for milkshakes. She also surprised me and gave me the most meaningful gift I've ever received - a friendship book. Over the last two months, she contacted all of my closest friends (new and old), got messages from them for me, compiled them, and scrapbooked them with pictures. Yes, I cried. Yes, our waitress worried. No, I didn't care. People always ask us how we've stayed best friends for so long. To me, the answer is simple - how could you not stay best friends with someone so amazing?
Today, Jenn and I decided to head to Oxford for some good reunion time with two of my favorite girls, Pfaff and CJ. First, we went to Hot Scott for my favorite hot sub. Then, we went to BRICK STREET (aka my 5th home) for some Piano Man. It was so wonderful to spend my birthday with my sister and one of my best friends. It's almost as if Paul Otten knew we were there - he played DMB, "Rich Girl," "Wagon Wheel," and, of course, "Piano Man."
I also got countless Facebook messages, texts, and phone calls throughout the day from the most incredible group of family and friends I could ever imagine. Again, and I know you're sick of reading it, I'm so lucky. I've never felt so loved in my life.
So, as you can see, I've successfully turned 23. This one will be hard to top.
Glad you had such a great birthday! Looks like fun; why does everyone who went to Miami always miss it so much? haha. Can you believe I never made it to Piano Man? Maybe I need to make a trip back too. :)
ReplyDeleteSO GLAD you had such a good birthday! Wish I could've joined in on the Brick Street action ;) and SO SO happy you loved the book! I got a sneak peek at the Pink Friday party and IIIII almost cried looking at it so I can't imagine how you reacted! Haha, I want to look at/read it in full next time I'm home!!!
ReplyDeleteSO jealous you got a pillow pet too; I want the panda one so bad!! haha, I think I will buy it as a Christmas gift for myself. ;)
AND I clearly need to try this whipped cream? Never heard of it, but after this week/next exam week I'm definitely in need...
This is a super long comment and now I'm rambling sooo, I will wrap it up.
