Thanksgiving and Birthday Fun

Sorry for the radio silence. I'm still recovering from my little Thanksgiving break. Is it weird to call it 'break' when I'm not a student? It still feels like one.

Thanksgiving was spent with most of my favorite people. LP obviously wasn't in town, but both Wheat and Jenn were there to lift my spirits. We also had a close family friend, Jamie's boyfriend, his brother, and their friend over, so it felt like a big, happy noisy family.

As per the usual, the food was delicious and although my sweet potato puffs were slightly burned (I'm looking at you, Mom), they were pretty good, too. Definitely a recipe worth saving.

The good stuff.

The rest of the weekend consisted of some brief Black Friday shopping (which actually occurred after dinner on Thursday), hanging out with family, meeting up with some hometown friends, a nerve-wracking Ohio State victory over that team up north, and the craziest ending to a college football game I've ever seen.

Really, watch it.

At the risk of this blog becoming some perpetual tribute to my amazing boyfriend, I'd also like to share that he drove back to Indianapolis to work on Friday, only to return to Cincinnati that night to be with me. Be still, my heart.

Sunday also happened to be my 26th birthday. So, I spent the day basking in the overwhelming amount of love and birthday wishes sent my way. My parents cooked a delicious meal (steak, baked potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and onions, and asparagus) for dinner, my sister decorated a cake for me, and to top it all off, the Bengals beat the San Diego Chargers.

Please notice the hockey stick and puck.
I love her.
On the way back to Indianapolis, Wheat and I stopped at Jenn and Paul's place to see her amazing Christmas decorations, eat some cheesecake, and watch the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead.

Sound like the perfect weekend? It was. My enormous bucket runneth over.
