It was announced this week that Indianapolis is getting an ECHL team, the Indy Fuel, next season! I can't wait! As a fan, I'm so beyond excited for the city. Geographically, Indianapolis is the perfect location for a team because it is surrounded by other teams in Cincinnati, Ft. Wayne, and Evansville. Also, even though most people don't know it, this city already has a rich hockey history. In fact, Wayne Gretzky made his professional debut in Indianapolis for the Racers of the then-World Hockey Association in 1978.

I'm so excited that people in my adopted city will have a professional team in town again. Everyone should know how great this sport is and have the opportunity to watch it live. Side bonus: State Fairgrounds Coliseum, where the Fuel will play, is walking distance from my apartment!
Oh yeah - I saw Catching Fire yesterday and loved it. If you love the book, you'll love how true the movie adaptation is to it.
