So, I'm diving headfirst into my summer list in hopes of making up for my last one. I'm also going to keep it short and somewhat reasonable. Attainability is key on these things, right?
- Canoe on any body of water
- Check out the All-Star festivities in Cincinnati* - Complete!
- Eat dinner on the rooftop of the theater in Fountain Square
- Stargaze at Holcomb Observatory
- Watch a movie outside (drive-in, IMA's Summer Nights) - Complete!
- Take a road trip - Complete!
- Enjoy a fireworks display - Complete!
- Watch an MLB game, preferably at Wrigley Field - Complete!
- Eat at Mug 'n Bun Drive-In - Complete!
- Bake a pie from scratch
*We will be out of town for a wedding the weekend before the All-Star Game. Unfortunately, I think this means no FanFest for us and since we aren't millionaires, no game either. We'll also miss the free Ariana Grande show at Paul Brown Stadium. Murrrr...
There are really a million things I want to do, but time is precious. Other ideas include: King's Island trip, fly a kite, paddleboat on the canal, swim in the pool, eat something ridiculous at the Indiana State Fair, get bikes, pick fruit, make popsicles, taste-test at a new brewery, take Wheat to Montgomery Inn and/or the Newport Aquarium, and check out Garfield Park Conservatory.
What are you planning to do this summer?

This list is absolutely perfect!! I want to come visit and do these things... especially the outdoor ones! It's just too dang hot to enjoy anything but swimming outside here, even at night! It's still over 100 degrees when the sun goes down, gross!
ReplyDeleteugh, All star week is bad timing for us too. we are planning a mini-moon to Boston, and were hoping to catch a Red Sox game, but of COURSE it's all star week. In any case, I think we can help with the road trip goal... that is unless you're flying. If that's the case, then you can always drive to Cville later this summer!
ReplyDeleteI would love if you could somehow make it here for fan-fest! We are definitely hoping to go- there's a Groupon for it right now too! :) I'd love to do a quick weekend get away just one last time before football happens- we'll see how that goes!!
ReplyDeleteWhat about buddlies?
ReplyDeleteI am so bad at bucket lists too and I change my mind all the time. I've wanted to try surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and start riding my bike again for the longest time. I guess I'm just lazy! Your list looks great though and I have faith in you. I'm also going to be singing "Believe" by Josh Groban all day now thanks to that Polar Express reference! Happy Friday :-)
ReplyDeleteThis post is awesome. And makes me want to watch fireworks and go canoeing! Have a great summer! :)
ReplyDeleteooh girl, i'm always up for a good bucket list. i didn't make one this year, but your list of things is making me wanna bake a pie of my own, and then also maybe do some canoeing :) are you on pinterest? we should figure out pie recipes together!
