- This Weekend. It's a biggie here in Indianapolis. Despite the recent passage of RFRA (which probably merits a post of its own next week), this weekend will be one of celebration and tourists for my adopted city. The Final Four is posting up at Lucas Oil Stadium and with it comes an NCAA Fan Fest and a Music Festival. My weekend looks to be a whirlwind of Imagine Dragons, basketball, Rihanna, crowds, Weezer, food, Zac Brown Band, canal walks, and Lady Antebellum. The best news of all? Mommles is visiting for the madness!
- #300in3. A couple weeks ago, the Indiana Historical Society worked with a professional photographer (Tom Strykowicz) to take pictures of 300 Hoosiers in three days for an exhibit. I never would have gone alone, so I twisted Wheat's arm a little bit to accompany me. I simply can't say no to free things and now we have this 8x10 to hang in our apartment.
- Ice Cream Sandwiches. It's that time of year again, folks. Who am I kidding? It's always time for ice cream sandwiches.
- The Rolling Stones. One of my favorite bands of all-time is hitting the road this summer for a 15-city tour that includes Indianapolis! The Zip Code tour is stopping at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a show on the 4th of July and you better believe I'll be there...unless Dave Matthews offers to give me a special, one-on-one acoustic show that day or something... *fingers crossed*
- Baseball Season. By some sort of sorcery, Opening Day is Monday for my beloved Redlegs. I wish I could be in Cincinnati for the festivities, but I'll be celebrating from afar in my Votto shirt. I can't wait to spend some summer nights at Great American Ballpark and the awesome minor league park here in Indy.
- "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding. Yeah, she might have cheated on Ed Sheeran with Niall Horan from One Direction (rumors!), but this girl can do no wrong for me. Plus, think about all the good music that infidelity probably inspired in Ed! He deserves better and we get some great songs. Win-win?
Do you follow a baseball team?
Does anyone on earth actually prefer popsicles over ice cream?
What's making YOU smile this week?

I do NOT prefer Popsicles over ice cream - that is just ludicrous!
ReplyDeleteMy team is the defending World Series losers, the Royals. I've loved those boys in blue long before last years improbable run through October. I can not WAIT to see what this season brings. Go Royals!
Good. You aren't one of the crazies. The Royals ousted my fiance's team (the Orioles), so I still feel a little salty at them, but for your sake, I'll wish you a great season!
DeleteThe Orioles were my very first baseball love - having lived in Baltimore until I was 8. I used to go to games at the old Memorial Stadium before they build Camden Yard. So I can deal with the O's ... just not when they're playing the Royals in the ALCS!
DeleteTHAT'S THE MAGIC OF ORIOLES BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for baseball to begin -- although I much more like to be there IN PERSON, Caleb will be watching the game on TV every night haha! What a cute photo of you two that guy took :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some answers/help soon with your health! =\ Sending some hugs over to you! I'm excited for baseball season, but only to watch it in person- lol! I get bored watching on TV! And lastly, I must tell you I prefer popsicles over ice-cream, but thats only because dairy makes me sick!
