- Sidney Crosby had a press conference today. Finally. When the announcement was made about the upcoming press conference, I almost threw up. Thanks to the absurd assumptions made by Canadian sports journalists all summer long, I had nearly convinced myself that he was addressing the press to announce his untimely retirement from the game of hockey. Of course, this wasn't the case. In fact, he raised my spirits by telling me (yes, me - no one else) that he hasn't ever really considered retirement, has been feeling a lot better recently, and, although there is no projected timetable, it is likely that he will play this season. Here was my exact reaction:

One of the concussion specialists on the panel also referred to Sid as the "Ferrari of hockey." Obviously, this comment had me drooling all over the kitchen table as I watched the video stream live on my mom's laptop. Hopefully I didn't ruin the keyboard.

So, I can rest peacefully tonight for the first time since early January. Sid looked good. He even wore white after Labor Day, but let's be honest. He's Sidney Crosby - He does what he wants...especially to me.
- My parents and I are making a trip out to California to visit LP at Camp Pendleton! It goes without saying that I'm beyond excited. We are staying a few nights in Las Vegas, driving to pick him up, then staying a few more nights in San Diego and LA. Any suggestions on things I must do while I'm in any of these cities?
The only downfall is that my favorite blog friend, Julie at The Smitten Mintons, will be out of town for the exact dates that I'm there. Devastated is an understatement. At least this gives me yet another excuse to go back to California!
- Speaking of my trip, I will be completing a goal on my bucket list while in LA. My mom and I will be attending a live taping of JEOPARDY!!! There are few things I want more in this life than to be a contestant on Jeopardy, but if I can't do that, I will certainly settle for a spot in the audience. I might even start crying when Johnny Gilbert announces Alex Trebek. Someone is going to have to cover my mouth or I might whisper every single answer to my mom. I will already be fighting the urge to shout, "SUCK IT, TREBEK!" or "I'll take 'Colors that end in -urple' for $200."
- There is a lot of great music out right now. It is blowing my mind. Here are a few current favorites. Check them out and tell me what you think. While you're at it, give me some to try out! I listen to everything.
"Hljomalind" by Sigur Ros - Hauntingly beautiful. I love the sound of Icelandic.
"Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay" by Big Sean ft. Kanye West - Some nice hip-hop to set the mood.
"Lights" by Ellie Goulding (Bassnectar Remix)- If you only listen to one song that I've suggested, listen to this one. It's addictive and amazing. Best work out song I've ever heard. Rave anyone?
That's it for now, but my creative juices are flowing.
Have a great trip!
ReplyDelete"This was my exact reaction...." HAHAHA I laughed so hard at that.
Oh, you have so much excitement coming up!
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is so beautiful. You definitely have to eat Mexican food somewhere in San Diego, because it is phenomenal there.
I can't wait to hear your post-Jeopardy blog post. That will be so much fun!
And, Ellie Goulding's entire album is so good. I have a lot of her songs on my workout playlist. I think her voice is so beautiful. "The Writer" is probably my favorite.
I think these random posts may be my favorite. Sooooo sad about not seeing you, but as long as you promise to come back, I think I'll survive.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you about Jeopardy!!!! That will be awesome. And I LOVE your Celebrity Jeopardy references. "What is light urple"
I have no doubt that the video is an accurate representation of your reaction. I'm so glad to finally have a hockey freak friend who will indulge in my obsession.
