Duckpin Bowling is Hard.

It's happening again. That horrible Monday feeling. I'm still not feeling great, either. Perhaps my body is rebelling against the constant cold and the 6-10 inches of snow projected again for tomorrow night. I'm really pretty angry with Mr. Punxsutawney Phil.

Friday, on the other hand, was a perfect date night. Wheat and I met Manny and Elizabeth in Fountain Square for some B's Po Boy and duckpin bowling. The food was absolutely delicious and, somewhere between the pulled pork and beignets, I found myself getting irrationally excited for New Orleans next week!

Duckpin bowling is the coolest, most frustrating game imaginable. First of all, the balls and pins are smaller than you'd expect. The lanes are warped and you have very little control over where your ball ends up. Even with three rolls per frame, it's nearly impossible to knock all ten pins down. But we tried, anyway.

The bowling alley looks like something straight out of the 1920s (you even have to keep score by hand) and the view of Indianapolis in the distance is gorgeous. So, I walked around and took pictures the whole time. Somehow, I also found a way to win. Ain't no thang.

After bowling, Wheat and I went to one of our favorite spots in the city, the Circle. We walked around the monument, admiring the Peyton Manning-inspired window lights and the slow-falling snow.

 

Next, we ate some delicious ice cream and perused our favorite candy and soda shop. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I'm with him.

Finally, check out the soda Wheat bought from Rocket Fizz. It is called 'Nuclear Orange Bomb,' features Kim Jong-Il, and says 'Terrorizing Taste' on the side. Excellent.

 

I hope you're staying warm wherever you are. My sympathies go out to all the Broncos fans. Most of Indianapolis is mourning alongside you.
