When I left for 'Christmas break,' I did not anticipate that break lasting a full month, but it has. A weird combination of freakish cold weather and snow (Indianapolis got a full foot of snow on Sunday - thanks, polar vortex), a sudden flu outbreak for Wheat, some burst water pipes, and upcoming Cyclones games have trapped me at home.
I guess I shouldn't say trapped. It's been nice spending time with my parents and sister. It's been nice sleeping in with Wheat, watching tons of Netflix documentaries (really - check out Undefeated and Blackfish), and having my parents cook for me. I'm ready to go home, though. I want to get back into my routine, get back to the gym, and start using my crock pot. How old am I?
At any rate, one of the highlights of my time back home was bundling up with my family, venturing outside into the Siberian wilderness, and building what was supposed to be a snowman. Unfortunately, it wasn't the proper snowman-building snow and it wouldn't stick. In fact, we couldn't even get pieces of his face to stick without pushing his head off his torso. As a result, his nose ended up being an orange popsicle, expertly whittled to size by my sister.
He's short and only vaguely resembles a snowman, but he was a labor of love.

He's cute! I like your little snowman blob. He has character. My sisters made some snowmen on their snowdays too, but I was at work. (booooo. i missed out!)
ReplyDeleteThis weather is for the dogs though. SO OVER IT. I'm disgusted with myself that I went out in just a cardigan today because it somehow felt like summer, even though it was only 40 degrees. I need a beach vacay.
Also, you're still in town and this is the first I'm hearing about it??! RUDE.

Eric and I have also been into Netflix with this cold weather. Watch the documentary Central Park Five. It's definitely worth your time.
