Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

After much consideration, I have decided to start a new blog. My other one has served me well since high school, but I've decided that a new blog seems appropriate for a new chapter in my life.

So, here it is.

First, a little bit about me. My name is Brittany. I am a recent graduate from Miami University (Love and Honor) where I majored in Political Science and Spanish. Although it took me a while to adjust, my four years at Miami have been the best years of my life. I intend on pursuing law school and I am currently on the waiting list for the University of Virginia. As for now, it looks to me like I will have a much-needed year off from academics.

Currently, I live at home in comfortable Lebanon, Ohio. Although I get quite bored, it has been nice to be around my amazing family and hometown friends again. Unfortunately, I don't have a job, so I spend most of my days following my mom around like our Pomeranian, Prince.

I absolutely love sports, especially football. The Cincinnati Bengals complete my soul and I live for football season. I'm also an avid follower of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Recently, I have developed a love for hockey, mostly because of Miami's strong program, but I also follow the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Music and movies are my other passions. I took piano lessons for a number of years and enjoy playing still. Quitting those lessons is the biggest regret I have in my life. I appreciate all kinds of music (with the exception of metal) and I sing more often than I talk. Although I didn't continue in college, my favorite class from high school was easily choir. Dave Matthews Band is by far and away my favorite band. I've seen them in concert roughly ten times and plan to do so many more.

My ideal job would be a movie critic or a screenplay writer. Although I've come to terms with the improbability of achieving that dream, I still see movies all the time. I watch Jeopardy religiously and cannot get enough trivia. I also love reading (especially Harry Potter and anything Chuck Palahniuk) and traveling. If given the opportunity, I would go anywhere...and I do mean anywhere. I love opening my eyes to the rest of the world, envying some lifestyles and feeling humbled by others.

I have liberal leanings and can be fairly outspoken. I think some of this has to do with being a political science major, but I love to talk politics and be informed. I'm also a self-proclaimed celebrity whore and will probably update this journal more with pop culture news than real insight into my life.

...and that is me in a nutshell. I'm sure there will be many more insights into my personality to come.
